Protest as you can on the VIP blocking roads. If they do not care about our lives , why should we

    SL Tuesday, 21 May 2019 07:17 AM

Do not stop your vehicle for VIPs anymore! They do not care country's safety, our safety. if they have cared we do not have to experience this situation today.

I also got caught to this traffic blockage in Kynsey Road, and after waiting for a very long time started honking my horn. Then a traffic officer came and said to wait as there was a bomb somewhere that they are attending to. So I respected and waited but little while later, saw some defenders - probably carting some so called VIP donkeys, driving past at speed. When the head of the army says there is no bomb scare which we truly believe, it is not right for this poor traffic officer who has been delegated to take care of these VIP clowns, to approach us and mention about bombs in this sensitive time! Top police brass should educate such traffic officers not to mislead the public and create fear among the people in this sensitive environment but to tell the truth that those VIP donkeys are not meeting the time frames as usual, so be patient until they pass. If these donkeys have done the right thing at the right time, we wouldn’t be in this situation today!

VIP ? What makes them so called VIP ? Arent they normal people like evryone else ? Arent they elected by the People of Sri Lanke to represent their ideas and thoughts to best for the country ? They should stop misusing public funds for so many expensive vehicles, an armee of giuards and securitiy and and and the list is long but the system will never change

    Samare Tuesday, 21 May 2019 09:08 AM

If road built by tax money, every citizen have equal rights to use them. Not just Politicians.

    King Tuesday, 21 May 2019 09:28 AM

I doubt if there's any other country in the world other than third world African states where this kind of orchestrated chaos is caused by political numbskulls. We are all to blame for giving these Very Important Parasites preference in our society.

What a fantastic citizens protest! Can someone identify who were this Wee IP’s , this Wee IP’s should apologise to the citizens of Sri Lanka

Lord Wolfstein Tuesday, 21 May 2019 09:41 AM

We are not here in China, Russia or another dictatorship. Only recently has it been decided by the government that politicians have no special rights on the roads.

    KDS Tuesday, 21 May 2019 10:25 AM

Who are the VIP? Very Imperfect Pig?

Cedric Seneviratne Tuesday, 21 May 2019 10:58 AM

Absolutely disgusting. This government vouched that they wouldn't inconvenience the public with vehicle convoys of so called VIP's. I dont understand why we have to call them VIP's in the 1st place. They are servants of the public. When they come canvassing for votes they are so humble

Bandu Abey Tuesday, 21 May 2019 11:01 AM

I wonder who are these VIP's? No politician should be given any higher priority than the citizens who have the right to get rid of the politicians from every class. This subservient treatment of the ordinary people by the lowly politicians should have been stopped long ago. But never too late. Overseas dignitaries, as guests of the country should be respected and be given the priority.

    Horn Tuesday, 21 May 2019 11:12 AM

It is about time that people show these politicians that "enough is enough". And this is a truly democratic way. This wave needs to be carried on.

    Sharon Tuesday, 21 May 2019 12:37 PM

    Superb work public.

Sunil Karunarathne Tuesday, 21 May 2019 12:46 PM
