The Education Ministry today said all schools, pre-schools, pirivena, tuition classes and universities will remain closed due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation.
Education Minister G.L Peiris said the government had a great interest in continuing the children's education but the priority presently was to safeguard the health of the students.
Schools and universities will be re-opened as soon as the current pandemic condition of the country returns to normalcy, he said.
However, the ministry will inform the date on the re-opening of schools and universities before three days. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
