Is this the only development we are lacking in Sri lanka?

    Samson Monday, 18 May 2020 08:47 AM

Wrong decisions when wrong people are in responsible places! Firstly do we play enough cricket to have more playing fields? then what are the priorities with massive funds required for expressways and to recover from the economy loss due to the virus. Schools have no water.

    cineha Monday, 18 May 2020 08:48 AM

This is not the need of the hour. Now where is the social distancing?

    mnsmart Monday, 18 May 2020 08:49 AM

we need beach hotel and a harbour in the central province too

    Sokrates Monday, 18 May 2020 08:55 AM

The Gotabaya Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium. The most important thing the country needs.

    Sambo Monday, 18 May 2020 08:57 AM

It seems the government does not know its priorities. There are hundreds of thousands of people living without drinking water, no proper roads to walk, no bridges to cross and poverty stricken people. Do we need to spend so much money on a cricket stadium which will be a white elephant.

Roger Galpihilla Monday, 18 May 2020 09:04 AM

Oh! God. He said no private sector employees will loose their jobs. Companies can not retain jobs with out money to pay salaries. BG can give the job of employing 40,000 People to construct the stadium for three years. Roger Germany

    Rathnavali Monday, 18 May 2020 09:10 AM

We are facing a severe economic crisis in months to come. These fools are planning mega projects. What a comedy of errors!

    Pissa Monday, 18 May 2020 09:19 AM

Are you creasy man. Country is suffering from pandemic, this guy seems a brainless chap.

    Sesath Monday, 18 May 2020 09:19 AM

A waste of money. If anything, we should build a ground in Jaffna to spread out the nternationsl cricket to North. Otherwise we have enough grounds for this small country. Get the priorities right people, and instead, build low income housing for the homeless or factories to produce goods and earn export dollars.

Neil Horadagoda Monday, 18 May 2020 09:20 AM

Mr Minister, please spend the money on education especially in up lifting the universities to world standards. We have fallen behind in education at every level. The greatest investment is in Education, Education, Education. We are doing well in cricket and have many stadiums in the country. The biggest Int stadium is the MCG, in Australia -capacity 100,000.

Christo Perera Monday, 18 May 2020 09:22 AM

Come on folks. You must be joking here. What do we need to spend so much money for another ground when the current grounds are not used to the maximum. What are we gaining. Shift your focus elsewhere please and stop fooling us.

    BuffaloaCitizen Monday, 18 May 2020 09:23 AM

This is the present priority for this country which is already in the doldrums of economic bankruptcy.

Rajesh Pantha Monday, 18 May 2020 09:27 AM

Due we really need another Cricket ground? Whose idea is this? Was this decision taken by one man or in consultation with our cricketing body? Bandulla, please remember what happened to Mattala Rajapakse airport.

Hans perlee Monday, 18 May 2020 09:29 AM

What a.waste of money. Better use the money to do something about rainwater draining to prevent Street and houses gedding flooded

    Jude Monday, 18 May 2020 09:33 AM

    Arnold Monday, 18 May 2020 09:48 AM

Just take the commission and leave the land alone. We have enough stadium already.

    Jude Monday, 18 May 2020 09:50 AM

The whole country in the midst of worse pandemic. After the debacle of the pandemic catastrophe, the WORLD will NEVER be the same again!! And all THESE guys wanna to do is build the BIGGEST intl.Cricket gounds in SL!! WOW!! They got their priorities mixed up for sure!!! Huh!!

    ANTON Monday, 18 May 2020 10:02 AM

WORLD'S FIRST CLASS JOKERS ARE IN OUR PARLIAMENT. EVEN 5 PEOPLE CANT GATHER IN ONE PLACE AT THE MOMENT. I AM NOT TELLING THIS SITUATION WILL BE PERMANENT BUT STILL WE HAVE OTHER PRIORITIES.

Kingdsley Wijesinhe Monday, 18 May 2020 10:04 AM

    Roshanaly Monday, 18 May 2020 10:17 AM

Instead Build Hospital or increase the existing Facilities of the Government Hospitals.

    Kusal Monday, 18 May 2020 02:23 PM

This pack of nutjobs want us to donate our salaries because the country is in a mess, and they want to build another Rajapaksha monument.

    Buddhist Monday, 18 May 2020 07:15 PM

I think Bandula wants to get 10% in addition to Mr. 10%'s, to go to Bangkok to hold hands!

    Somapala Monday, 18 May 2020 07:18 PM

You can imagine the standard of PhD in SL now, based on what this idiot Dr B wants now for the country.

    RP Monday, 18 May 2020 08:19 PM

Definitely we don't need one but they do. Just look at the picture with all the "Bloated" officials who is deciding? They do need to get the "biggest" stadium in order to get "Biggest" commissions ever! Shame on the government for asking poor man's salary while contuing with "unnecessary and extravagant" mega projects.
