Hats off to the respective governments' for maintaining the free education system.

Lord Wolfstein Sunday, 29 March 2020 01:17 PM

Sadly the report told nothing about the discipline of Sri Lankans which is jungle or fourth world standard.

Lord David of Glencoe Sunday, 29 March 2020 02:05 PM

The discipline in other countries is not much better and partly worse. Some people just turn their brains off and disregard the welfare of others - everywhere!

    A True Patriot Sunday, 29 March 2020 09:04 PM

Lord Wolfstein sadly such discipline was necessary during different times colonial rule to get rid of the Colonisers whose main motive was to plunder the wealth and priceless artifacts of the country and hoard their museums. No Country tolerates such rabid behaviour.

It is also sad to see the situation which has resulted from the Pandemic in all the "First World" countries where all the "lords"are from. Perhaps First world standards in concrete jungles.

    SandunW Sunday, 29 March 2020 03:44 PM

Congratulations to all concerned! Proud, as always, to be a Lankan!

Koushallya weerawardane Sunday, 29 March 2020 06:24 PM

Saranga Walimuni Sunday, 29 March 2020 06:29 PM

    Bravo

    Nihal Sunday, 29 March 2020 06:36 PM

This is insane, some paid PR firm applauding the self leathers while the infected rate going up due to ridiculous decisions by the gift... like allowing Chinese to travel in with no restrictions, curfew removal allowing everyone to rush to buy food creating chaos and confusion, this is making the situation worse as SL curve could go up very very soon. Complacent and premature statement!

Still in the minds of the Westerners,Sri Lanka is only an excellent holiday Island. An American told me” your island is like Hawaii “. So I told him unlike Hawaii, we have a five thousand old civilisation, and our state institutions are second to none in the whole of Asia.He replied “ it is only a tropical and beautiful island”.

Kusum Alwis Sunday, 29 March 2020 07:30 PM

Very proud of my motherland...Congratulations to everybody who concerned..Chirang Jayathu Sri Lanka!

Martin Milton Sunday, 29 March 2020 07:34 PM

Great! Thanks be to HE Gotabhaya's Government and prompt actions! The more the Forces are used in this manner the more efficient the Government will be run. More of it PLEASE!. MM

    Cityzen Sunday, 29 March 2020 07:52 PM

Mainly because there are no political jokers involved from both parties. The country can run like this for some time without incurring any undue expenses for those political parasites...

Palitha Jayasinghe Sunday, 29 March 2020 08:03 PM

Very true. But Sri Lanka is a third world country with intelligent people.I put down their intelligence to Buddhism without insulting other religions.

    Neville Sunday, 29 March 2020 08:28 PM

Sadly Health Review Global has omitted the yeomen service rendered by the forces including Police.

Sir Klaus Klinsi Sunday, 29 March 2020 11:35 PM

Hi, I'm a research student residing in Colombo. Can you please share a link for this study? Health Review Global has no academic papers in any university database I have access to. Their youtube channel turned up this month with 3 videos uploaded within past 4 days and a subscriber count at 2. Twitter presence is far too embarrassing to mention having just 2 followers. They claim, according to their website, to be scientists, physicians and tech wizards based in US and UK. I wish there were names or body of work, some effort or at least appearance of credibility. It is obviously propaganda move for the government in the face of its mishandling of the situation. I suggest looking at neighboring Maldives for their exemplary work in containing the virus without resorting to draconian measures and an impressive adherence to transparency. This in-turn has fostered trust between authority and citizens. Sadly the same cannot be said of Sri Lanka.

it is indeed a remarkable progress has been made with limited resources . The commitments demonstrated by the leadership led by the president , healthcare work force led by health ministry , all forces including police and all other essential government services and private sector have led to mitigate this pandemic situation in a much controlled manner , Let the public pay more supportive role with great discipline to over come these challenges ..Hats off to all

    Damien Monday, 30 March 2020 01:38 AM

Credit should be given to current President and Prime Minister who are well-known in the world for their talents in defeating 'global threats'. Luckily Sri Lanka currently does not have the most corrupted Health Minister in power, who stole money even from cancer treating drugs..

    Sen Monday, 30 March 2020 06:50 AM

Thanks to change of the administration last November to firm, military trained person having dignity above everything(believe zero %tolerance for corruption) and unconditional faith on him by most of the nation, health and security forces will make this success I

What a bunch of crap. We're in the mid of crisis and this health view global outfit is attempting to promote tourism. This Ma and Pa operation inside of someone's toilet is on a different agenda, they know nothing about healthcare or good hygiene let alone tourism.

    Dr.Sathya Tuesday, 31 March 2020 12:21 AM

At least someone appreciates our work as doctors and soldiers in the front line. We are working 24/7 to detect and mitigate this problem. I see in how essential services and the state is responding to this crisis in first person on a daily basis. We are far ahead than western world as quoted by my colleagues in the UK whom I met during my specialist training. It's sad to see a few looking down and criticizing what we do while worshipping the devastated west. My heartiest thanks to the daily mirror, all the guys who are supporting and that site for motivating me and many of my colleagues. For that unpatriotic research student who thinks he is god: May I know your H Index please?
