Reigning Mrs. World Caroline Jurie and Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika De Silva who both got involved in a brawl at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant on Sunday evening, met once again at the Police Station today to record statements.
Pushpika, on Monday, lodged a police complaint against Jurie after Jurie uncrowned her on stage of the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant claiming that Pushpika was ineligible for the crown since she was a divorcee.
The incident led to widespread publicity with local and international media organizations reporting about it. The incident was also a trending issue on social media for days.
Jurie has since the incident remained silent, with her family claiming that she will soon reveal all details over what led to her actions while Pushpika has appeared in front of the media, broken down in tears, vowed to stand for single mothers and has also hinted she may enter politics. All this within 24 hours after she claimed that she had been injured after her crown was pulled by Jurie which led to her being hospitalized for a day as well.
Pushpika has received her crown back after the fiasco which now paves the way for her to compete in the Mrs. World pageant in December which will be held in Sri Lanka. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
