IGP Pujith Jayasundera and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando were remanded until October 23 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today.
The duo were remanded as per the order given by the Colombo High Court today to remand the suspects after revising the order of the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court to release them.
Earlier, IGP Jayasundera and Mr Fernando had been charged over their failure to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks by the Attorney General (AG). Colombo Chief Magistrate had granted them bail. (T. Farook Thajudeen and Nimanthi Ranasinghe)
