Ministry of Passenger Transport Management said today that public transport services would resume from Monday (June 8) after reviewing the public behaviour and in line with health authorities’ instructions on Covid-19.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been made mandatory to limit the number of passengers to the number of seats.

“Although there are around 5,300 SLTB buses and 23,000 private buses, it is not sufficient to transport passengers if we are to stick to the number of seats,” the minister said.
