Attorney General Dappula De Livera today directed the Acting IGP to submit a report within two weeks, after investigating the COVID-19 spread from Brandix.
Accordingly, the AG had provided instructions to DIG Ajith Rohana on creating the report.
The AG also directed to check whether there was direct involvement of the Brandix administration or any other government official on the spreading of COVID-19 in the country.
According to the instructions, the AG has also requested to commence a criminal inquiry under Provision 392 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The AG had also directed the Acting IGP to appoint a team with expertise to conduct the inquiry and to submit the initial progress report before November 13.
