Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a three-member committee chaired by Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana to probe State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake’s controversial statements he had made on Buddhist monks on social media recently, Prime Minister’s office announced.
The other members of the committee are Public Administration Minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama.
The committee is entitled to inform the Prime Minister about the proposals and recommendations in relation to the remarks of the State Minister for further course of action.
The media reported that the State Minister had made a statement saying 90 per cent of the monks who shout for blood are the ones who have been abused by the chief monks of the temples they reside in.

Another useless committee. By the look of things, there will be a committee appointed to investigate even if someone farts!
