The Public Health Inspectors have been unable to contact GMOA Head Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya as of this evening to place him under quarantine after one of the doctors who had attended a party hosted by Dr. Padeniya at his residence in Kelaniya contracted Covid-19.
The area PHI told the Daily Mirror that they had visited his residence twice but could not find him.
Subsequently, they had brought this to the notice of the Kelaniya MOH.
Dr. Padeniya had organised a party at his residence in Dippitigoda, Kelaniya on January 8, where around 20 persons from three families were reported to have attended the party.
One of the attendees, a doctor attached to a hospital in Avissawella was subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. The infected doctor is a resident of Minuwangoda.
Accordingly, the Minuwangoda Regional Medical Officer of Health instructed the PHIs to direct all those who attended the party to be quarantined. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Very interesting. Can the GMOA, usually so vocal on the Covid-19 issue, please explain why their President has held a party contravening COVID regulations?

What a shame. These are the same doctors who advise the public to follow guidelines and having parties. Where is the authority ??.
