A 34-year-old woman had been arrested last night in connection with the shooting incident that took place at Piliyandala on March 14, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
She had been arrested on charges of conniving with the crime.
Two persons were killed and another hospitalised when two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at two men Moratumulla on the Piliyandala-Moratuwa Road on March 14.
The woman suspect was arrested by the officers of the Special Crime Division of Mirihana.
“She was arrested at Weligama for providing accommodation for the suspects and a resident of Sahabanduwatte, Pelena,” he said.
A bus owner and his son’s friend were killed by the shooting however the bus owner’s son was injured in the shooting.
The assailants had used a shotgun.
“One of the shooters had been identified,” SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
