President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday barred the Ministers of bringing their mobile phones to the weekly Cabinet meetings, it is learnt.
The President took this action because a few ministers were making phone calls while the Cabinet meeting was in progress.
He said such actions disturbed the Cabinet proceedings.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also endorsed the President’s views in this regard. (Kelum Bandara)

That's a good move. I think it is high time the MPs too are barred using mobiles while in Parliament sessions. It's an ugly scene when these guys are on the phones while inside when the Parliament is in session.
