British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday night over the telephone to express her condolences, the PM’s office said.
“She offered to help Sri Lanka to handle terrorist activities as UK got experience. PM Wickremesinghe thanked British Prime Minister. A UK team will be in Sri Lanka shortly to assist investigations.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan also telephoned PM Wickremesinghe to offer his condolences this morning. During the phone conversation, Pakistan PM mentioned that over 70,000 Pakistanis have been killed due to terrorism. PM Khan offered to help Sri Lanka at her need of the hour. PM Wickremesinghe thanked the Pakistan PM and expressed his appreciation of the long term friendship between the two countries.
