Mason nabbed with over 3kg heroin in Piliyandala

A mason who was riding on a motorcycle arrested by the officers of Organized Crime Division with 3.2kg of heroin during a special raid in Piliyandala last night.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said  the suspect would be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate seeking a 7-day detection order in terms of the provisions of the dangerous drugs ordinance to conduct further investigations.

It was revealed that this drug trafficking has been maniputated by a prominent drug trafficker who is in the remand custody.

"We are conducting  anti-narcotics  operations quite relentlessly to apprehend the drug traffickers and peddlers. Public can also alert the police through 118, 119 and 1997," DIG Rohana said.

    This emergency number 119 should be looked at. Last sunday I tried for about 45 minutes to call, it was always busy. I tried it about 20 times. After that I gave up. If you call the Police station they refer you to call 119. It seems they don't want to be disturbed.
