Man shot dead at Jampettah Street

A -24-year old man was killed when an unidentified gunman who arrived on a motorbike opened fire at him at Jampettah Street in Kotahena this evening, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

The victim, who was identified as Menan Suriyakanth, was a resident of Jampettah Street.

He succumbed to his injuries on admission to the hospital.

The police are carrying out further investigations into the incident.
