Ahimsa Wickrematunge, the daughter of slain journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge, has filed a case in the California Court against former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in connection with the assassination of her father in January 2009.
She had reportedly stated that Mr Rajapaksa, who is currently holidaying in the USA, should be held responsible for the murder of her father and demands compensation.
Lasantha Wickrematunge was the Editor of the ‘Sunday Leader’ newspaper. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Good. At least justice should happen in another country if the Sri Lanka authorities are lackadaisical on the matter. After all a daughter has lost his father whose life was taken in a cruel manner. Law should prevail above anyone irrespective his or her class creade.

Great news. I know Sri Lankan court will never convict him. He is above the law by the Buddhist law. He should be given death sentence.

So our courts gave him permission to travel on holiday!!!! Some are more equal before the Law than others!
