Commenting on a video which is being shared on social media platforms, Plantation Industries Minister Navin Dissanayake today said that he did not laugh to insult the people killed in the Easter Sunday attack.

He said in parliament that a video footage in which he was laughing had been published on social media and said it had been tactically edited.

“I did not laugh to insult the people killed in Easter Sunday attacks. I had some gestural communication with a journalist at that time and I laughed at some of the gestures made by the journalist. The video has been edited to change the meaning of my speech," he said. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
