Following the surprising revelation by UNP MP Harin Fernando that there were numerous recordings of conversations with current government members in MP Ranjan Ramanayake's possession as well, the Daily Mirror learns that some ruling MPs had held informal discussions over the matter yesterday.
Fernando told reporters on Thursday after visiting Ramanayake at the Welikada Prison that the arrested MP had not released these recordings to the public yet.
Government Spokesperson, Keheliya Rmbukwella however told the Daily Mirror that if the UNP MP had such recordings in his possession, then he could well release it. "It all depends on what Ranjan has with him. If there are certain things with him, no one is holding him back," Rambukwella said.
However MP Fernando's revelation has raised the eyebrows of certain ruling MPs who yesterday discussed the matter within themselves. (JAMILA HUSAIN)
