Five persons would be allowed to accompany one passenger at the Departure Terminal of the Bandaranaike International Airport, Airport and Aviation Services Limited (AASL) Chairman Maj. Gen. (Rtd) G. A. Chandrasiri said.
“However, the passengers and guests who arrive at the airport should follow the health guidelines issued by the Health Ministry,” he said. (T.K.G. Kapila)

If they can do this, they should open the airport up for tourists!

This is a totally unnecessary risk! Corvid 19 is STILL HERE, so crowding should be avoided. E.g. 20 passengers means 100 more people!

Earlier it was maximum 3 visitors per passenger provided that they buy a ticket for Rs.300/-, now increasing it to 5, do the Airport authorities trying to find quick buck ??

Why is it necessary five people to send off one person. The fairwell can be done at home. You need only one person to drop a passenger off. Earlier times when it was a novelty for some one to go abroad , it would have been ok. Now it is so common.

This is stupid. No need to allow herds of people inside the Airport to say bye to one person.

What nonsense- this used to be the old practice when overseas travel was novel or only by villagers who wanted a trip to Colombo. Please keep to only overseas travelers Goodbyes can be done at home

We cannot go into an election with our airport closed. There are family waiting to return but our airport is closed.
