A five-judge Bench of the Supreme Court today fixed for support on January 31 for granting of leave to proceed with the three fundamental right petitions challenging the signing of agreements on the MCC (Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact), SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) and ACSA (Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement).
The Bench comprised Justices Buwaneka Aluvihara, Lalith Dehideniya, Murdu N.B.Fernando, S.Thurairaja and Gamini Amarasekera.
The petitions impugn the intended signing of the agreement with Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to obtain a USD 480 Million grant.(S.S.Selvanayagam)
