Police yesterday issued a special circular allowing employees at 84 institutions, including government agencies, corporations, statutory boards and the media to use their official identity cards as curfew passes.
“It has been observed that employees of government and co-operative sectors and other essential services should report for duties because their service should be continued for the benefit of the general public,” Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
However, Police urged those employees not to use their official ID for private moments.
“ We request all the employees to use their official ID as curfew pass only if they have been informed to report for duty,” the DIG said.
