Dr Jayaruwan Bandara, who was serving as the Health Ministry Spokesman has stepped down from the post, following a request made Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Dr. Bandara said that he was informed of this decision by the Minister over the phone yesterday.
“I accepted the request and decided to step down, he said. “Minister
Wanniarachchi telephoned me yesterday and said that since the information pertaining to the Covid-19 situation is communicated by the Director General of Health Services, there is no necessity for me to continue as the Health Ministry Spokesman," he said.
Dr. Bandara added that he was not informed in writing when he was asked to take on the responsibility to serve as Health Ministry Spokesman and neither was he informed in writing when he was asked to step down. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Today we have so many spokesmen. We have Army, Police, Health Ministry, GMOA, and so forth. However, the pandemic keeps on spreading. Rather than changing spokesmen, the government should do something to stop the virus.

We salute you being an independent professional who spoke the truth fearlessly. Don’t give up to serve Sri Lanka and poor people. Things will turn favorable for you again because henchmen cannot perform in the long run.

Why we Sri Lankan's never prosper is because the people with ability are pushed out and those who boot lick are granted top decision making post. They just don't want educated who would over ride their stupid decisions.
