Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi addressing parliament today said that former Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara resigned from the position voluntarily.
She said that Dr. Bandara served in this capacity at a time when the post of Director General of Health was vacant, she further explained.
The Minister said that as a new Director General of Health has been appointed, Dr. Bandara tendered his resignation voluntarily.
