A pet dog that had been attacked with a machete in Kuliyapitiya had been treated and was discharged by the Kurunegala Veterinary Hospital after a four hour surgery today.
The pet dog sustained severe injuries due to the machete attack by an unknown individual yesterday and the sadistic attack went viral on social media platforms.
The dog’s owner, Nilantha Ruwan Sampath, said the dog underwent urgent treatment at the Veterinary Hospital and he machete, which was lodged in the animal’s skull, was surgically removed.
The owner said the perpetrator had not been identified yet and that he hoped to lodge a complaint with the Police. (Dinesh Upendra)
