A Police constable and a naval personnel attached to the President's Security Division (PSD) were remanded till November 6, by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lal Bandara for allegedly assaulting the OIC of the PSD during a function held at the President's house.
The constable and the naval personal were arrested after they allegedly assaulted Chief Inspector Gallage Samantha Jayasundara with a chair during a party at the President’s house at Malalasekara Mawatha on October 7.
The incident had allegedly occurred when the OIC had ordered a group under the influence of alcohol at the function to stop singing. (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)
