Beijing will respond positively to request made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for cooperation in accessing vaccines developed by China against Covid-19, a spokesman said.
President Rajapaksa said last Sunday that he had written to Chinese President Xi Jinping requesting for assistance in obtaining the vaccines. Commenting on the President’s request , a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy said China attached high priority to the request. He said there would be a positive outcome for the request for donation.
The spokesman also said that both Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines were effective, safe and easy to be stored. He said nine million people in China had received the jabs and those vaccines were being used in ten countries including Brazil, Turkey and Indonesia. (KELUM BANDARA)

The GMOA was waiting for the vaccine to be approved by the WHO before deciding on the manufacture. Both these vaccines are not even used in China and of course not approved by the WHO. An eyewash for the sagging popularity.

This vaccine has been a disaster in Brazil and does not work. Anyone can look up the performance of the Chinese vaccine. It is a failure. Much like the fake masks and faulty tests. No point getting it free it doesn’t work. Better to get the Oxford vaccine as it’s cheapest amongst the vaccines that work.
