A Criminal Investigation Department team, which has recorded a four-hour statement from UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding the investigations into the Central Bank bond scam, left his residence a short while ago.

What is this ? Are all not equal under the law ? Looks like that Ranil has summoned the CID to record their statement !

Aravinda, Sanga, Mahela were ordered to come to the CID, but here CID goes to his home. What is the reason for this difference? Those three have brought fame to the country than the latter.

Just an election spectacle. All the top guys are well-connected and are all rotten. They protect one another.

In a democratic country, normally no one has to testify to the police whether they are accused or witnesses. If you want to testify, you have the constitutional right to have a lawyer at your side. As a suspect, even you don't have to testify before a judge. The accused has the right to remain silent. A witness, on the other hand, must testify before a judge as long as she/he is not closely related to the accused. Sri Lanka is far away to be a democracy and it looks like it will become more worse.

CID MUST BE TAKING A VERY LONG TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE SUSPECTS SAYS IN THEIR STATEMENTS. THEY WANT AT LEAST 5 HOURS BEFORE ONE IS RELEASED. ARAVINDA AND SANGA SPENT AN ENTIRE WORKING DAY WITH THE CID
