Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara today acknowledged that the CID has mistaken the identity of one of the six suspects when releasing their photos to the police.
Issuing a statement, the spokesman said the police earlier released the names of the six suspects along with the photos sent by the CID.
“However, the CID informed me later that the photo sent along with the name of Abdul Cader Fathima Kadiyar was not the photo of the said suspect. The CID clarifies that it is not looking for the person in the photo but only the suspect named Adbul Cader Fatima Kadiyar,” he said.
