Bodies of two women found in Mahavilachchiya

The bodies of two women who were died under suspicious circumstances, were found at Kuda Thammannawa lake in Mahavilachchiya yesterday, police said.

They said the bodies were recovered following a complaint received by the Mahavilachchiya Police on Friday (24) which claimed that two women were missing.

The victims, Achala Sulochana Liyanage (28) and Achala Ratnayaka (22) were identified as residents of No 436/12, High-Level Road, Gangodavila.

Police said the bodies were brought to the Anuradhapura Hospital for post mortem examination.
