Bail order on Pujith and Hemasiri illegal: AG files revision application

Filing a revision application in the High Court against the bail order given by the Chief Magistrate in the magisterial enquiry conducted against the former IGP and Defence Secretary, the Attorney General has stated that the Magistrate’s order was illegal and erroneous according to law.

The AG has stated in the revision application the Magistrate has misinterpreted the law and factual elements of the case when delivering the order.

The Revision Application further stated that the Magistrate’s decision to interpret the intelligence information as uncertain information was an error of judgment, as there was enough evidence to suggest the certainty of the information. (Shehan Chamika Silva)
