The cyclonic storm ‘BUREVI’ is gradually moving away from the country, the Department of Meteorology stated.
It said the cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting up to 90 kmph would move west-northwestwards thereafter, emerge into the Gulf of Mannar.
However, the Department said showers or thundershowers would occur at times in the Northern, North-western and Northcentral provinces and also heavy rainfall above (100-150) mm could be expected at some places.
