In 2015, the State Intelligence Service (SIS) had reported that there was an unusual increase in Muslim students at the Law college in 2012, former SIS Director SDIG Nilantha Jayawardena yesterday informed the PCoI probing Easter Sunday attacks.

Referring to a report made on July 20, 2015, Jayawardena said that out of 203 students, there were only five Muslim students at the Law college in 2003. However, in 2012, 78 Muslim students were admitted to Law College and as a percentage it was 25.24% of the overall students.

Explaining his opinion Jayawardena said that this was part of an attempt to invade key positions by minorities.

"I can only warn the relevant institutions. The Ministry of Justice and Law College should investigate the matter," witness said, responding to a question raised by the Commissioners.

Witness further said that the LTTE also assured many students in areas under their control and they also passed their university entrance exams.

"This is one approach minorities can take. This kind of invasion happens in France and some other countries. At SIS we observed the trend and its up to the relevant officials to take the necessary measures," he said.

Jayawardena also said that in 2013, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) was making Rs.1.5 million a month from halal certification. At that point 204 companies had obtained halal certification for over 4,500 products, he informed the Commission. (Yoshitha Perera)

I don't see any wrong in the entering of particular minority students in majority into the Law Faculty if they have passed and eligible to.

What unintelligible answers by a senior DIGG . This officers is said to be a graduate. You can now see the standard of Sri Lankan graduates. I totally agree with the comments of Mr H.S Jayatilleke and other comments. This guy is a fascist or is off his nut. This fellow should have been sacked for neglect of duty leading to the Easter Sunday bombing. Coward wants to hide and give evidence in camera.

Mohamed Zainudeen Thursday, 30 July 2020 12:55 PM

What is this country getting into? I guess it'll be a matter for the SIS to worry, if the muslims put up a few extra toilets in their houses, wondering if they're collecting excreta for terrorist activities. God save this blessed country.

    Musthaq Thursday, 30 July 2020 01:13 PM

according to the SIS Director Nilantha All Muslims in Sri Lanka and terrorists. what a conclusion they have analyzed all Muslim activities but still could not prevent the Easter attack what patriots these are

Definitely something very unusual happened in the entrance exam to the Law Faculty in 2012. This was at a time when Rauf Hakeem was the Minister of Justice if I am not mistaken. This is very much similar to what happened when Ashroff was the Minister in charge of the Colombo Port - just another example. There must the hundreds if not thousands of such occassions spread throughout the Island. Muslim grab for land is another.

    MeSrilankan Thursday, 30 July 2020 01:17 PM

What do you mean by invasion? They are citizens of this country too.

    Raj Thursday, 30 July 2020 01:19 PM

He has spent collecting information of citizens' legitimate matters rather than finding information regarding illegitimate matters. What do you say about 95% or more security personnel are Sinhalese?

    kumar Thursday, 30 July 2020 01:22 PM

The level or racism in Sri Lanka!. This guy is a hardcore racist. How on earth one can deny education based on his race/religion if he/she could fullfill the educational requirements. It is only in Sri Lanka. This guy is a shame to the entire human race.

    ravin Thursday, 30 July 2020 01:27 PM

You can imagine the caliber and mentality of this witness. Hey look this is Sri Lanka and all communities live with harmony. Do not utter nonsense for personal gains. This type of guys should be kicked out of responsible postings.
