The 25 undergraduates who were involved in the removal of newly installed CCTV cameras at the Kelaniya University premises were suspended for two years with effect from today, the Communication and Media Unit of the University said.
It said the decision was taken by the University Administration after convening the disciplinary committee today.
Meanwhile, all students had been barred from entering the Dalugama premises of the university with effect from tomorrow morning.

Why TWO years, they should have send home for ever. This is too soft decision. Once they returned they will do the same.

Suspended only for two years, , not enough. Law abiding people expect universities to sack them, damage to public property. Arrest and take them to courts!
