Eighteen persons including a woman were arrested while engaged in a party at a guest house at Laksirigama in Habarana early yesterday morning.
They were arrested for violating quarantine regulations, the police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the suspects were fined Rs. 2,500 each after being produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate's Court.
Meanwhile, a total number of 3,232 suspects have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations by not wearing face masks and failure to maintain social distancing in the public places since October 30, 2020 to date.
