14 families have been placed under quarantine in and around Horana, after an army solider who visited the area a few days ago tested positive for COVID-19, the police said.
The army officer has been taken in for treatment and public health officers, today, placed the 14 families, who are believed to have had direct and indirect contacts with the solider, under quarantine.
Horana town however is functioning but several shop owners closed their businesses after the news spread. Security has been tightened in the area. Further contact tracing is ongoing.(Jamila Husain)
