A total of 1,422 COVID-19 positive patients were reported as of last night, Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said today.
He told the media that the health ministry has a clear understanding of the spread of the latest COVID-19 cluster adding that the Ministry believes that this cluster can be controlled.
"This is how the COVID-19 disease behaves in the world and that was why many countries were unable to control the disease. It was mainly uncontrollable because those countries did not receive their public support," Dr Bandara said.
"However, people in our country gave their best support for the control of the virus. Therefore the Ministry is requesting the public to continue to give their best support in order to control this latest cluster," he added.
