The National Physical Plan for the next 30 years had been finalized, Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said.
He expressed these views at an event held to give away houses for those who had lost their houses because of development projects.
“National Physical Plan 2050’ will be the future policy plan to develop Sri Lanka for the next 30 years until 2050,” the Minister said.
According to the plan, four economic corridors have been identified such as Colombo to Trincomalee, Galle Hikkaduwa to Tissamaharama, Jaffna to Kilinochchi and Valachchenai to Ampara.
He said they had finalized all the plans that should be carried out in respective corridors.
“One would wonder as to why Kandy and Anuradhapura have not come under the four corridors. We have made especial arrangements to those two cities also and would carry out strategic development projects,” he added. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Making plans for next 30 years, shows how out of touch this man is.Do we have money to spend for all these CAPEX projects.Just plan for next 5-10 years and focus on implementation We live in a country which is incapable of supplying electricity 24x7,thanks to Yahaplanaya. If not for Norochollay we will be with out power for at least 10 hours per day

Which means planned to rob the country until 2050. At the borrowing rate with this government in the name of grants, we will not see 2050. This man is a total moron without any sense of forward progress towards common issues. Start with basic utilities such as water, electricity, conservation, cultivation, medical needs and efficient transportation. Is that too complicated or major robbery is not an option there ?
