Businessman’s son jumps to death from 10th floor of private hospital: Police

The 30-year-old son of a leading businessman died after jumping from the tenth floor of a leading private hospital in Kollupitiya yesterday, Police said.

They said the victim visited the hospital to receive treatment for a common sleep disorder.

The victim visited the hospital on the previous day (24) with a female friend, they said. The doctor advised the friend about the victim's reactions due to the disorder he was suffering from, the police said.

However, the victim who walked along the corridor of the tenth floor went inside a toilet and jumped out through the window, the police were told.

The incident was reported to the Kollupitiya police station at 1.45 am yesterday (25).

PCR test was conducted and the body is lying in the hospital for postmortem and further inquires.
