The weather condition in the Eastern, Uva Provinces and the Hambantota district have improved, although scattered showers can still be expected from time to time, the Meteorological Department said

Thunder showers can be expected during the afternoon and evening in the Western, Sabaragamuwa Provinces and the Galle and Matara Districts.

As a whole island wide weather has improved with low rainfall expected during the weekend, the Met Dept, said. (Gandhya Senanayake)
