UNP National List parliamentarian Harsha De Silva said the struggle to bring perpetrators of the NSB-TFC fiasco would go on undeterred.

“Being in the opposition, we have been able to look after the interest of the public.

We can’t let perpetrators escape with no punishment. If there is any wrong doing they have to be dealt with seriously.”

“The deal is just the tip of the iceberg of a plethora of illegal activities taking place within the market through EPF funds and by other investors. In the adjournment debate, I requested a Parliamentary Select Committee to go into the details of the deal.”

“The people including those responsible have now resorted to attacking the messenger instead of the message, but this won’t deter us. We will ensure that the wealth of the people is not robbed by a bunch of crooks,” he added. “Unlike the NSB fund, the EPF is much bigger and the people responsible are much more powerful. We will continue to fight to ensure credibility and transparency in all transactions.”

By the time the EPF contributors retire, either there may not have any funds available or the little available may not have much value due to rupee been depreciated so fast.

There are good educated UNP MPs but their Leader is only interested to be the Leader of the opposition----Permanently with the help of MR--the President.
Ranil.W needs to hand over the leadership to men like Eran Wicremaratne.

The Finance Company has recorded a loss of Rs. 212 Million during the last quarter according to Lanka Business Online.
Knowing this, Pradeep Kariyawasam and cronies of the NSB attempted to "bail out" the company using hard earned savings of the people.
This is a major economic crime, and all of them deserve jail sentences after trial.

What about the state merchant bank chairman who transferred half of total shares of a ceylinco firm that was given to the bank for managing. The culprit is said to be holding a similar post in a state firm although court has reportedly barred him from being on Boards. How did he escape ?.

Nothing will happen to those responsible for the NSB-TFC fraud. Rouge Chair now resigned for trying to put a "Horizontal Deal" will be given a DPL posting and sent to some country. The fraud will never teach any one any lesson. Its just a stir short lived.

Ideally, they all should havve been arrested unconditionally. If the president has to intervene to rectif a capital market transaction, then I am sorry the system is DYSFUNCTIONAL, to say the least.

How much Dr. Harsha have been telling, Looks like they don't listen, Dr. Harsh please talk in sinhala as wimal, Mervi and the dumn team do not understand what you are saying and the gravity of it. If they understand I am sure they would have voiced there 2 cents just to show they are doing Govt good. By the way you are the only man talking so much of sence out of the Opposition group too.
