The Venerable Dambara Amila thero was today remanded till January 8 by a Magistrate Court in connection with charges of collecting money to send people overseas. The monk, an ally of Presidential candidate General Sarath Fonseka, was arrested over the weekend and taken in by the CID for questioning.
