The end of the travel warning comes just over a year after Sri Lanka declared victory over the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) following 27 years of civil war.
The LTTE had not staged any attacks in the capital Colombo or elsewhere in Sri Lanka since then, the State Department said in a statement.

This is a remarkable achievement by Current Foreign Ministry headed by Prof. GL Peiris.
Hope you will spearhead the elimination of unfavorable Visa policies in these countries. You may start with the countries in the Asian region

Thank you USA. Also, please, ask the US Embassy in colombo to distinguish between bona fide Sri Lankan visa applicants and mala fide Sri Lankan terrorists on US soil.

travel warning was due to the civil war now there is now war thanks to greatest patriot of our time Gen.Sarath Fonseka. U.S.A. didn't lift the warning due to any other reason.

As a Sri Lankan living in the US, I applaud both countries for this signficant achievement. Sri Lanka is trying to stage a recovery after a long and bitter war. It has to start healing economically and only then can any real progress can be made towards permanantly healing the ethnic wounds . Good job all around !

"Sanus" your comment seem to be funny.. haha.. is Sri Lanka a matter to USA..??
The "Lifting of Travel warning" as it's not necessary as the war is over and also means that Mr.Peiris seems to have agreed on something with USA.. but now you don't make GL as traitor..
