UNP protest

A group of UNP MPs led by Ranil Wickramasingha have begun a protest march towards parliament from the UNP Headquarters Sirikotha against the implementation of the 18 Amendment.

The group which is joined by party supporters are marching towards the Parliament holding coffins and an effigy of President Mahinda Rajapakse.

The UNP MPs are also holding placards and shouting slogans against the arrest of the wife and two brothers of the owner of the press who are currently held at the Mirirhana Police Station for allegedly printing defamatory posters against the President and his family. (MB)
