Unlicensed phone repair and sales shops will be raided in the coming two weeks and the necessary legal action will be taken against them, Anusha Pelpita, Director General of the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission told Daily Mirror online

He added that public notices have been published during the past few weeks warning these unlicensed vendors to get the necessary legal documents. Therefore vendors without the necessary licenses to legally import and repair phones and related electrical goods will be raided with the assistance of the police, Pelpita said. The govt.is chasing after sprats while the sharks are looked after well including the ones in the govt.itself!! Or to put it in another way: They are after small would be criminals while the real thugs, frauds and murderers are held with kid gloves as they need their support!!!

    Well said Yeti....

Also why do people look for cheaper option???? its becoz of the pircing... if these so called autorized dealers charge a fair price from consumers then no one has the need to search for cheap mobiles..... I believe in SL there never identify the root cause...

No clear cut economic policies with the establishment, sometimes it looks more liberal (import duty relaxation on cars etc.) and most of the times heading for a hard licence (licentious?) regime!

You also have to say what is the cause of this action now. When you report something, let the public know the background too. Please do not give half baked news.
