Models 1 is Europe's largest and most successful agency and is responsible for discovering some of the legendary names in the modelling industry like Kate Moss, Will Chalker, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Twiggy. Models 1 has an impressive clientele ranging from M&S, Next, Top Shop, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Versace, Prada, Pantene, Peugeot, BBC, MTV and ITV. Sri Lanka Design Festival 2010s aim in bringing international models of this calibre is to raise the bar of the sub sectors of fashion in Sri Lanka such as modelling, fashion photography, styling and to help large industries such as apparel catering to a western export market profile their products.
The event conceptualized by the Academy of Design marks Sri Lanka's debut to the world of international design through sharing Sri Lanka's message with a specifically invited global audience. The audience consists of international buyers, retailers, press and opinion leaders, who will gather here to push though leadership, evaluate Sri Lanka as a sourcing destination and be international brand ambassadors for products made in Sri Lanka. The festival features many fashion shows, exhibitions, symposiums and workshops on fashion, interior design, graphics design, jewellery and traditional crafts open to the general public, thus engaging both the commercial and casual visitor.
Sri Lanka Design Festival 2010, scheduled to take place from the 11th - 16th of November is organized by the Academy of Design (AOD) in partnership with the Export Development Board (EDB).
