The Colombo Fort Magistrate today issued summons on the Police Narcotics Bureau OIC as he had failed to comply with a Court order.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne ordered the OIC to show cause as to why the police had failed to submit an investigation report regarding a suspect who had allegedly involved in importing dissolved heroin soaked in 20 towels.

At the previous magisterial inquiry, the Magistrate had ordered the Police Narcotics Bureau to submit an investigation report in Court regarding the third suspect’s involvement to the crime.

However, the Police Narcotic Bureau failed to present an investigation report regarding the third suspect Abdul Suhur alias Shakila.

In this case, the main suspect Ramaiya Kumaravel was charged with drug trafficking and keeping them in his possession.
