ReeBonn Cosmetics, a leading cosmetics and personal care manufacturer, has joined the Corporate Education Programme of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), becoming the latest company to entrust the professional development of its staff to the national body for marketing.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed recently at ReeBonn House in Ja-ela during a special ceremony to mark the new relationship between the two parties. Accordingly, SLIM will train ReeBonn employees and offer its employees the opportunity to follow the Certificate in Professional Selling (CPS).
The event was attended by ReeBonn Cosmetics Managing Director S. Sivaraja, Manager HR and Administration Sanjeewani Daluwatta, Sales Manager Dayan Surasinghe and Brand Assistants Daminidri Alahakoon and R. Swasthika. SLIM was represented by Senior Vice President Ruwan Liyanagamage, Head of Business Development Mihirinie Fonseka and Manager Education Gayan Maldeniya.
SLIM President Kalana Rathnayaka commented on the importance of professional development for the growth of companies.
“The SLIM Corporate Education Programme focuses on the development of human resources as an essential aspect of long-term corporate success. Over the past five years the institute has made a significant contribution towards raising the standards of marketing and sales in various industries such as insurance, pharma, FMCG, mobile telecommunications and banking through this programme.”
Through this programme, SLIM has been instrumental in the accelerated professional development of the staff of a wide range of companies over the past few years. Fonterra and HNB Assurance, two of the oldest partners, have been reaping the rewards of this highly acclaimed programme for over four years, while Unilever, Etisalat, Harcourts, Nations Trust Bank (NTB) and Janashakthi are among the other partners.
SLIM Senior Vice President Ruwan Liyanagamage spoke about the partnership with ReeBonn.
“We are delighted to have partnered with ReeBonn, a local company with a product range which has a loyal customer base in both local and international markets. The Corporate Education Programme will further boost the sales success of the company by enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of its employees. I would like to invite other companies to join hands with SLIM and take advantage of this programme to develop its workforce.”
SLIM CEO/Executive Director Sanath Senanayake indicated the quality of the Corporate Education Programme.
“The unique aspect of this programme is that it includes customised education for individual companies and the company performance is embedded into the programme, thereby guaranteeing positive results. The successful completion of this programme provides a pathway for employees to pursue postgraduate qualifications.”
Certificate in Professional Selling (CPS) has been specifically designed for sales/marketing personnel who are at the junior level and the duration is 56 hours with flexible arrangements based on the staff availability. The programme provides a host of benefits to the organisation including the improvement of service quality standards, employee effectiveness and efficiency, retention and acquisition of customers with a marketing-oriented approach.
Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (PCM) is the most sought-after and recognized entry level qualification for marketing in Sri Lanka and is probably one of the world’s best short courses in marketing. It is an entry qualification for Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and the first step towards an internationally recognized professional status in marketing conferred by the prestigious Asia Marketing Federation.
