This is what democracy, free education and the human rights act does to a country

    Srinivas Wednesday, 20 October 2010 02:01 PM

Those students should be executed without prior investigation. This should be done humanly after areligous ceromony in public

    fatso Wednesday, 20 October 2010 07:27 AM

er, well you think sri lanka is the only country with free education...where are you from?...we are a country that invest only 1.5% of the GDP for education...every other country spends over 3%

Nilika Serasinghe Wednesday, 20 October 2010 05:16 AM

    Dear Mr President,

You had brought in Discipline. Your Children are such. Why cant you discipline these goons. They go to University on Mother Nations funds, they ruin the same, they kill the time & finally when they come out they are the first to leave the country.

Please support private universities. If these goons are unable to understand close them for ever. Let them suffer and take them to courts. Don’t waste money on people who have no brains but action for destruction

    Roshan Wednesday, 20 October 2010 04:38 AM

and have unruly ill behaved thugs as our future countrymen?

    kel Wednesday, 20 October 2010 04:10 AM

realy i don t know how this people enter the univercity

    Tuan Wednesday, 20 October 2010 03:29 AM

I fully agree with Anushka & truth seeker. When there are vacancies in our organization my boss always makes it a point to say no graduates from local uni's pls....
The parent's who could afford will not dare to put their children in these institutions(even if they are selected), so who are the loser's?? my dear children think of this & make good use of this great oppertunity rather than falling pray to the JVP activist who could only exist by creating havoc in the country. O/w it will be the popular saying "Nubata puthe magak nathey".

    gilbu Wednesday, 20 October 2010 03:10 AM

JVP is helping government to open private universities, as much as JVP or "Anthre" make troubles in universities, students will find alternative ways to higher education.

    iddasiri Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:54 AM

    Root cause? Once again JVP

    bernard Tuesday, 19 October 2010 11:42 PM

At least show some gratitude to JVP for helping Mahinda R to become a powerful King.

    There we go again.

Happy Strike...extended vacation. Good for Xmas

    Powerless Tuesday, 19 October 2010 10:27 PM

This is all part of education, and human evolution. You do your part of not hiring the local graduates. Let them do their part of whatever it is.

    Manula Tuesday, 19 October 2010 07:35 PM

Don't give free education to useless people like this. We spend millions of money studying away from our country nd go through a hard time. These ppl get free education nd they don't know the value of it. hooligans!!

sunil Rupasinghe Tuesday, 19 October 2010 05:46 PM

i totaly agree with truth seeker. sunil

    sam Tuesday, 19 October 2010 05:25 PM

I totaly agree with truth seeker. they dontknow modern world.send some of them U.S.A no computer skill.no English. What kind graduate are they,

truth seeker Tuesday, 19 October 2010 04:14 PM

Absolutely spot on Anushka!, who wants to employ these hooligans in their companies. These guys bring the same culture to their work place as well. I am an employer and I am enough of these local graduates. They want a job with big salary but they are the big trouble makers for any company. I think the most suitable job for them is only government departments where they can play what ever the hell they want.

shehan Perera Tuesday, 19 October 2010 03:56 PM

Don't talk like a mad cow. Do you know the root cause of this fight? Don't act as a unconscious man. Shame on u...

    Anushka Tuesday, 19 October 2010 03:53 PM

They get free education through taxpayers money unlike any other country, and this is what they do. No wonder there are so many graduates without jobs - what company would offer them jobs when they hear about what they are doing at the universities?

    WA Tuesday, 19 October 2010 03:52 PM

JVP desperately need a student body. Probably, they will kill one by them selves and put the blame on police or any other group.

We should eliminate JVP also from Sri Lankan soil.
