The police have arrested 15 people in connection with the Nawalapitiya election incidents IGP Mahinda Balasuriya said a short while ago adding that impartial investigations would be carried out on the suspects.

The police have so far received 11 complaints of election related violence.

    is this a joke??

Give them some 'biriyani' and release them in the morning.

What a joke? Never seen a result come out of an 'impartial' investigation or any 'impartial' action from the police, especially under the present so-called 'democratic' regime.

Sri Lanka is doing all nonsense, in the name of a 'democratic' country.

I bet those who were arrested are supporters of the opposition.

Yes, arrested, but they will be released tommorrow morning, without any charges! This is the real 'law & order' of Sri Lanka. Oh, what a shame! Oh, what a lawless country in the world.

This was not unexpected. However, we as civil society will be surprised if action IS taken, without prejudice. I hope a fresh poll will ordered in the affected areas.
