Three soldiers were injured and hospitalized when the vehicle of cricketer and MP Sanath Jayasuriya was traveling, collided with a motorcycle in Eliyakanda, Matara. Jayasuriya however did not sustain any injuries. (KJJ)

Sanath may be a spent force, but please don't ridicule him. We all enjoyed his type of power batting and wily bowling, in his hey-day and he was instrumental in winning us many a match. We must be grateful for that.

All u ungreatful ppl pls do not forget the good times of entertainment he gave us as a cricketer. Respect him for what he was. It's OK to get involved in an accident and yes, its OK to have a bodyguard, now that he has turned into a politician.
I didnt approve of his playing in the current team to represent SL in the world cup, but I will not disrespect him. He is a legend. See the respect he commands in India, West Indies and the world over.

Sri Lanka had produced so many world class individuals, but in the recent past it was Sanath J. Who made Sri Lanka proud in his unorthodox cricketing style. True, the time has come for him to call it a day. Cricket is the only sport that we could dominate the world stage, Sanath, Aravinda & ,Murali’s contributions were immense and unmatchable. Don’t have to go very far, our giant neighbor still respect Senath’s talent .They knew how dangerous player Sanath was. In Very shortsighted Sri Lankan society, any legend is no legend in no time for some selfish -People. Hard to stomach, that’s who we are!. It is a Shame.
